The project aims to utilize a loan received from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to provide the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) with six Offshore Patrol Vessels TT-1500 to help strengthen Vietnamese governance and build VCG capacity to properly conduct maritime security activity, including ensuring safety, maintaining order, enforcing the law, conducting search and rescue activity, and protecting the marine environment in Vietnamese water and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). 
PADECO has been involved in the consulting services for the project as a JV partner, providing review of basic design, tender assistance, and construction supervision.
