In Mozambique, the academic performance of primary school students is extremely low, making the improvement of quality of education an urgent task. Strategic Plan for Education 2020-2029 identifies the enhancement of quality of education as a important policy goal and to strengthen the capacity of the relevant organizations and professional personnels. There is also a high demand for support in the areas of educational reform, as well as the development and improvement of curricula and textbooks for primary school mathematics and science. Building on the achievements in improving the instructional skills at teacher training institutions through previous support, this project focuses on enhancing the academic performance of students in grades 1 to 6 through the development of curricula and educational materials for mathematics and science. Additionally, it aims to contribute to sustainable educational improvement in the post-COVID condition by supporting distance education through the use of ICT.
