The main objectives of this work were to grasp the progress of JICA's educational cooperation over the past five years since the position paper was issued in 2015, and to strengthen JICA's countermeasures to tackle these issues in basic education sector. The TOR of this survey included three components: 1) to collect and analyse the latest educational data of 22 developing countries where JICA targets its support, 2) to review “JICA Position Paper in Education Cooperation” and the progress of the last five to ten years of its support in education sector over the world, analyse the feasibilities of the policies the Paper mentioned, and propose recommendations to modify the Paper in the next five to ten years, and 3) to produce JICA’s public relation materials such as monthly news e-magazines, quarterly newsletters, and a pamphlet which highlights JICA’s cooperation in the sector. As results of the survey, PADECO delivered the collected data, reports, and materials to JICA.
