Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) intends to finance a section of Highway from Argveta to Shorapani. The detailed design for this section was initially done by ADB. The section goes through narrow mountainous topographies that need tunnels and bridges for efficient travel. In addition, safety measures against falling rocks, slope failures, and landslides are crucial for the prevention of roadblocks and fatal accidents caused by disasters. PADECO reviewed the detail design outputs prepared by ADB’s DD consultant, proposed suitable Japanese technologies, and conducted the preliminary design of steel bridge superstructure.
