JICA has dispatched a PADECO tourism development advisor to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA), Palestine, from 2017 to 2019 under a technical cooperation program. The project goal has been to strengthen public-private partnerships for tourism development; strengthen the capacity of MoTA in the formulation of a tourism marketing strategy in coordination with concerned parties; and strengthen the capacity to implement promotional activities. Specific outputs will include: (i) improved capacity of MoTA for formulation of a marketing strategy and implementation of promotion activities; (ii) strengthening of the network among concerned public-private organizations; (iii) improved capacity of local officials of Jericho for formulation of a marketing strategy and implementation of promotion activities; (iv) promotion of a tourism partnership between Palestine and Jordan; and (v) sharing of the process and outputs of cooperation activities regarding the strengthening of tourism marketing and promotion between MoTA and other concerned organizations.
