This project was formulated under the Primary Education Development Program 3 (2012-2018) by the Government of Bangladesh with support from donor agencies. 
PADECO was responsible for activities toward improvements in the mathematics and science departments such as: 
(i) improving primary teacher training, 
(ii) supporting revisions of the primary education textbooks and curriculum, 
(iii) supporting the development of a Diploma in Education, 
(iv) strengthening the capacity of primary teacher training institutions and those networking, 
(v) improving the teaching methodology in the subject primary schools, and 
(vi) presenting quantitative results to show changes before and after the project.
