The information communications technology (ICT) / software industry is one of the priority industries for the government of Bangladesh, which has adopted a policy called “Digital Bangladesh”. One of the major challenges is the lack of a qualification system. JICA implemented a technical assistance project called “Capacity Building on ITEE Management Project (Phase 1)” to introduce the Information Technology Engineer Examination (ITEE). Following Phase 1, the project is focused on strengthening the organization and enhancing the capacity of the government to disseminate the ITEE system to the public. It will ultimately serve to facilitate more effective human resource development.
