PADECO is participating in Walk in Her Shoes 2026, a global awareness and fundraising campaign organized by CARE International Japan, a member of CARE, an international NGO operating in more than 120 countries. This marks our fifth year of participation, and as in the previous year, we are joining as a joint team with Pacific Consultants.

Around 2 billion people worldwide still lack access to safe drinking water. Women and girls, in particular, often lose educational and employment opportunities due to the burden of collecting water, while also facing significant health and safety risks. To address this issue, the “Walk in Her Shoes 2026” campaign is being held in countries around the world, including Japan.

In this campaign, every 500 steps taken translates into a donation of one yen, which will be used to support projects in Timor-Leste aimed at improving access to water for agriculture and daily life.
