Under commission from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), PADECO Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “PADECO”) has been conducting, since 2024, “Data Collection Survey on Cooperation with the Private Sector in the field of Vocational Education and Training in Ukraine”.
As part of this survey, PADECO supported the introduction of a training facility at a vocational training school in Ukraine as a pilot project, implemented in collaboration with Yazaki Ukraine LLC. The facility aims to incorporate the expertise and technologies of the private sector into vocational education and training, thereby fostering practical and job-ready human resources.
On March 17, 2026, an opening ceremony for the training facility was held. The ceremony was attended by a wide range of stakeholders at the national, regional, and local levels, including the representative of Yazaki Ukraine LLC, the Director of the Mukachevo Vocational Polytechnic College, the Mayor of Mukachevo, the Head of Zakarpattia Oblast, and the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council. During the event, participants expressed their expectations for the role the facility will play in strengthening local human resource development and promoting regional industry.
In addition, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Chief Representative of the JICA Ukraine Office, and members of the PADECO Project Team participated online, celebrating the opening of the facility together with diverse stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, as well as from within Ukraine and abroad.
The opening ceremony was also featured in several Ukrainian-language media outlets, as well as on the official websites of the regional government (Department of Education) and the Vocational Polytechnic College.
PADECO will continue its efforts to support human resource development and provide technical assistance for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
