In Egypt, the Egypt-Japan Education Partnership was established during a 2015 summit meeting to introduce Japanese-style education aimed at promoting the holistic development of students in the field of basic education. From 2017 to 2021, a trial of holistic education was conducted in Egyptian Japanese Schools, resulting in increased student cooperation, self-affirmation, and problem-solving skills. In 2018, a curriculum reform was initiated to help students acquire problem-solving abilities and life skills, and "Mini-Tokkatsu," modeled after Japan’s “Special Activities (Tokkatsu)”, was introduced in all public schools in Egypt. This project aims to support the sustainable dissemination of the holistic education model by developing human resources for the nationwide dissemination strategy, developing educational materials, and providing training and monitoring for school-level implementation.
