JICA plans to form the support program to implement appropriate support projects considering with political and security situation in South Sudan. JICA decided to conduct Peacebuilding Needs and Impact Assessment (PNA) to understand the background and factors of conflict and to identify the activities of other donors and needs of assistance. PADECO collected information and reports on the conflict and the peace building process and background and factors of conflicts including politics, military affairs, security, economy and social affairs through the internet. Based on above information, PADECO conducted field study to hear from local governments, universities. research institutions, other donors, NGOs and other projects and to analyze and understand the structural factors of the conflicts. At the same time, PADECO analyzed piece building process and economic and financial situation in South Sudan and identified points to notice for JICA to implement the assistance projects under the circumstances of slow progress of peace building and continuing community and military level of conflict.
