Since there are many landlocked countries in Africa, development of the economic corridors connecting regional economic hubs beyond national borders can promote industrial development and trade in the region. In recent years, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and regional economic communities (RECs) have begun developing infrastructure essential for regional economic development. This study covered eight countries: Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It identified specific infrastructural requirements such as transport, electricity, and water for the development of the region’s major economic corridors and centers. Based on these identified requirements, the study proposed a broad range of candidate infrastructure development projects for future financial and technical assistance.
