Rwanda is working toward realizing knowledge-based economy and becoming a high-income country based on its national development plan “Vision 2050.” However, its industrial structure is still agriculture-centered, and the country faces major challenges in transforming its industrial structure to a service industry and in developing human resources for this purpose. JICA has been supporting the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (IPRC) Tumba school to develop its infrastructure as a model school for IT education, the TVET sector, as a whole, still faces challenges in revising curriculum and strengthening education system to meet the ever-changing labor market needs. This project aims to provide advanced technical education through strengthening the functions of Rwanda Polytechnic and IPRCs, and to promote the production of quality graduates that meet the needs of the ICT industry and labor market.
