Client JICA
Country・Area Sub-Saharan Africa
JICA has been actively supporting science and mathematics education in the African region. However, discrepancies between the curricula of African countries and Japan is a challenge, and  certain criteria are needed to determine the scope of future technical cooperation. This study aims to identify the similarities and differences between the mathematics and science curricula of African countries and Japan, in collaboration with the Ministries of Education and partner institutions in the target countries. Based on these findings, the study will propose the scope and methods for future support. The study will also suggest the main areas of support, basic approaches, and potentially effective strategies for JICA's cooperation in mathematics and science education in Anglophone and Francophone African countries.
