The Jenin Municipality suffers from low bill collection rate for water services and high non-revenue water. This project is aimed at improving the water supply service in Jenin Municipality through the comprehensive strengthening of water service management capacity. This entails not only addressing reductions in NRW and improving bill collection rates, but also financial conditions, and other factors such as necessary modification of institutional setups, ICT system and water tariff, development and implementation of annual, mid-/long-term business plan of water utility management, revision/update of the water supply service contract with customers and the customer database utilizing GIS. It also includes a series of OJTs on leakage detection and repair also replacement of existing water meters with pre-paid water meters in some pilot areas for NRW reduction. Public awareness raising programs and activities were also organized.
